It is with deep sadness that the family of Veronica “Ronnie” (Lima) Donnelly, announces her passing on Sunday, November 24th, 2024 at the age of 89. She passed peacefully at Wingate at Silver Lake, in Kingston, MA where she spent her final days in comfort and laughter, surrounded by beloved family, friends and her wonderful caregivers at Wingate. Born in Taunton, Veronica was the daughter of the late John J. and Virginia Lima. Veronica was predeceased by her husband of 53+ years, Thomas J. Donnelly. A lifelong Taunton resident until the last few years, Veronica attended Taunton Public Schools and held various jobs throughout the years, including multiple stints at Raytheon in North Dighton where, among other things, she helped assemble parachutes for the troops. Veronica also enjoyed working for Delilah’s Bridal Shop, Standard Coyle and the local chocolate factory. But her favorite role, and one she mastered to perfection, was that of Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Always generous and open with her love and affection, the home(s) she shared with Tom were always open to family and friends. Veronica was famous for hosting some great family parties where her love of cooking and entertaining were on full display. Veronica leaves a son, Thomas J. Donnelly and his wife Ruth of Hopedale; two daughters, Dawn M. Poole and her husband Kenneth of Taunton, and Kelly J. Maw and her husband Wayne of Duxbury. She was the beloved Grammy to Emily Feeley (John) of Shrewsbury, Hannah Feeley and Gordon Donnelly of Newport Beach, California, and a precious Mimi to Natalie and Hailey Maw of Duxbury. Veronica is also survived by a brother, Lenny Lima and his wife Susan of Brockton. She was the sister of the late Virginia Booker, John Lima, Violet Sherman, Irving Lima and Richard Lima. She also leaves behind beloved sisters and brothers in law, several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Her family is eternally grateful for the love and support she received from her roommate Melinda who became her friend and confidant while at Wingate at Silver Lake. A special thank you for the wonderful care and love bestowed upon her from the residents and staff at Wingate, where “Ronnie” proudly held the title of Resident Council President. Her funeral will be held from Okeefe Wade Funeral Home on Thursday, December 5th at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Church at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
