Samuel Stovall Obituary

Samuel C. Stovall….. Born on January 31, 1974 in Holyoke, MA and raised in Springfield, MA by his parents, Eugenia Stovall and Bishop, Leroy Stovall. Growing up in Springfield, Samuel and his siblings were brought up in church where their dad was the Pastor of Holy Ghost Temple Church, and is currently the Bishop Emeritus at Holy Ghost Temple which is now based in Connecticut. Sam was gifted in Mixed Martial Arts which he learned from as a teenager for self-defense. Despite life’s obstacles and difficult choices, Sam showed remarkable resilience in overcoming adversity, and his spirit never gave up. If he believed he could do it no one could convince him of otherwise. Such was the case when Sam rededicated his life back to Christ. With childlike faith he pressed his way to church, read the Word more diligently and attended Bible Study with the Community Group at Christ Community Church. Yet the Closer he drew God, the harder the obstacles became. Samuel in predeceased by his mother: Eugenia Stovall and his Sister: Karona Jackson. He is survived by his wife of eight years, La’Kayla Stovall. Father: Bishop, Leroy Stovall and his wife First Lady, Joanne Stovall. Brothers: Tony Brown and his wife Shelly, Sheldon Stovall and his wife Jennifer, Eugene Stovall and his wife Dairysol, Cory Stovall and Cliffton Stovall and his wife Ramona. Sam is also survived by his children: DeVaughn Carter, Kailee Marie Stovall and her fiancée Mekhi Maratea, Ellie Longo and Samaya Acacia. His Grandchildren: Anayah & Mekhi (Baby Khi) Maratea and a host of nieces and nephews. Family meant everything to Sam. Which puts things in perspective…find joy in simple things, connect with others and inspire hope. People are complex and nobody is perfect. We are all imperfect in varying degrees. All we can do is seek God’s forgiveness, for none but Jesus is perfect.
