Roseanne E. Costa, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on April 18, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family. She was 84 years old. Born on November 24, 1941, in Taunton, Massachusetts, Roseanne was the cherished daughter of the late George and Claire V. (McCarthy) Lavigne. She is fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family.
Roseanne was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her dear brothers George Lavigne Jr., William “Billy” Lavigne, and John “Jack” Lavigne. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 60 years, Raymond Costa Sr., who was her steadfast partner in life and love. Together, they created a beautiful family, leaving behind a legacy of love and unity.
She was the proud and loving mother of three children: Raymond Costa Jr., Mark Costa, and Theresa Costa, who, along with her partner Brian Lehane, carry forward the values and spirit imparted by their mother. Her legacy lives on in her six cherished grandchildren: Kathryn Beaudoin and her husband Paul, Jacob Garanito and his wife Ashley, Britany Reed, Jordan Reed and her husband John, Lilah Costa, and Nina Costa. Her heart was filled with joy by her three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Paulie, and Delaney Beaudoin, who brought her endless happiness.
Roseanne found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as trips to the beach with her beloved husband and peaceful moments on her backyard swing. However, her greatest joy was her role as "Nana," a title she wore with pride and love, always ready with a warm hug and an open heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings, Charles Lavigne, James Lavigne, and Claire Ferreira, who, along with their families, will forever hold her in their hearts. Her family and friends will remember her as a woman of strength, compassion, and grace, whose spirit touched the lives of all she encountered.
Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Wednesday, April 22nd from 8:30-10:15 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Nicholas of Myra Church in North Dighton. Burial will be at Dighton Unitarian Cemetery in Dighton.
In honor of Roseanne’s memory and her dedication to helping others, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart.
