In Brockton, Peter E. Murby, age 72, passed away on February 23, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Manor in Brockton following a lengthy illness. He was born in Raynham, the son of the late Edward J. Murby and Verna (Barker) Murby of Raynham.
A lifelong resident of Raynham until moving to Abington 20 years ago. Peter attended Raynham schools, graduated from Bridgewater Raynham High School, Massasoit Community College and then from University of MA Dartmouth with his bachelor’s degree. Peter was one of the first handicapped children to go to public education in the state of MA. He was a member of Who’s Who of American Jr. College, and an honorary member of the Raynham Police Department. Peter enjoyed volunteering at both the Good Samaritan Hospital and Massasoit Community College, and watching sports, especially his favorite N.E. Patriots, surfing the internet, and spending time with family and friends.
Peter is survived by his sisters; Donna Furman of Raynham and Verna Frost of Bourne, his nieces and nephews; Verna Frost of Raynham, Edward C. Frost III of Dorchester, and great nephew Nevyn Bourke of Raynham.
Funeral home visiting hours will be held at O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA on Weds from 9-11 am. with a service being held at 11 am. Burial in the family lot at Pleasant St. Cemetery in Raynham.
