Peter J. Cardin Jr

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Peter Cardin, who left us unexpectedly on May 31, 2026, just one day shy of his 45th birthday. Born on June 1, 1981, in Taunton, Mass, Peter was the son of Debra Correia, who guided him through his life with love and support. He was also the son of the late Peter Cardin, Sr. Though Peter’s journey was tragically cut short, the impact he left on those who knew him will forever be etched in our hearts. Peter grew up with love and laughter, a testament to the warmth and kindness he embodied. He attended schools in Raynham and Dighton, where he formed lifelong friendships. He was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School and The Bay State School of Technology. Peter was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, William and Louise Murby and Leo and Alice Cardin who welcomed him into their heavenly embrace. He leaves behind his devoted mother, and aunts, uncles, cousins, and an extended family who will forever cherish his memory. A man of simple joys, Peter had an immense love for animals, often finding comfort and companionship in their presence. Peter was the tech person we all called to guide us thru new technology. He held many jobs during his life but his favorite was doing amazing stone work with his friend Craig Babbitt in New Hampshire. He thought of Brandon Mason as his brother and best friend, and Kerrie Mason as his sister. In honor of his memory, donations may be made in Peter’s name to the Town of Dighton Animal Shelter, 1458 Somerset Avenue, Dighton, MA 02715, ensuring Peter’s compassion of animals continues. A celebration of Peter’s life will take place on June 13, 2026 from 9AM to 10:30AM at O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton followed by a service at 10:30AM. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Peter are invited to gather to share cherished memories that will keep his spirit alive. Burial to follow at Pleasant Street Cemetery in Raynham. Though Peter’s presence will be deeply missed, the love he shared and the kindness he spread will remain with us always, reminding us to cherish each moment and to live life.
