In Assonet, September 12, 2025 Patricia A. “Patty” (Berg) Barboza loving wife of the late Robert “Jack” Barboza died in her home peacefully at the age of 87. Born in Roslindale, Patricia was the daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude (Homer) Berg. Ms. Patty Peppermint Patty The General Nannie Patricia Sweet Pea It didn’t matter what you called her - however you knew her was all that mattered. Because she was known and she was one of a kind. The best grilled cheese. More butter. If it wasn’t good, it was “lousy”. She loved Ice Cream, Animals, and the Red Sox. She was always polished - had to have all things perfect. Hair, outfit and all her “jewels”. She didn’t show up, She arrived. Strong, smart, determined and more stubborn than even our father. Married for over 65 years. Raised 3 kids. Had 5 Grandchildren. 2 Great Grandchildren. The sharpest tongue this side of the South Coast. A Brockton Girl who loved her Cape Cod Pizza. A woman who could charm her way through the ballroom of an OEM event to the local grocery store. Our Mother was the best and it was the honor of our lives to be with her in her last moments. She passed at 9:45 pm 9/12/25. We promised our father we would take care of her and get her home to him. That promise is now complete. Rest in Peace Mom, Nannie. We love you so much. She was the loving mother of Denise Bruno and her husband Timothy, Robert Barboza and his wife Lisa and Michael Barboza and his husband Carlos Presiga. Five grandchildren Jackie Bruno, Erica Bruno and her husband Ben Martin, Nicole Bruno, Alexandra Bruno, Austin Barboza and her two great grandchildren Jack Bear Finley and James Finley. Sister of the late Bernice Viera and Carol Tracey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Bernard’s Church, 30 South Main Street in Assonet on Wednesday September 17th at 11 AM Interment Assonet Burial Grounds in Assonet. In lieu of flowers donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to the Taunton Animal Shelter, 821 West Water Street, Taunton, MA, 02780.
