Otis C. Anderson

Otis C. Anderson, 93, of Taunton Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024. Otis was born on April 20th 1931 to Carl and Laura Anderson in West Bridgewater Massachusetts. Otis is survived by his five children, Steven and his wife Susan Anderson, Susan Semeta, Robert and his wife Renae Anderson, John Anderson, Jeffrey and his wife Julie Anderson, five grandchildren, Angela, Jamie, Jason, Steven, and Jeffrey. His nine great grandchildren, Elijah, Jason, Kyla, Jovani, Anicia, Jordan, Sean, Jace, and Sean Jameson. Otis was also pre deceased by his step father Myron Lawson. Otis served 22 distinguished years in the United States Air Force, participating in both the Korean and Vietnam War. Otis retired from military service in 1972 at the respected rank of Master Sergeant. Otis took great pride in his service to the country he loved, while remaining humble of the immense sacrifice and dedication he devoted to it. After his military career, Otis would go on to work for the Brockton housing department until he retired. Otis was a gentle and compassionate man, whose love for animals was only outshined for the love he had for his family. He was known to be able to fix anything, if there was a tool or part you needed, Otis had it. He enjoyed playing cribbage and 45, sitting down to a plate of fried seafood, tinkering in his shed, and spending his time with family, most importantly his late wife Barbara Anderson. Otis’s character inspired those around him to be better versions of themselves. Otis lived a virtuous and selfless life, always putting his family first. He was a man of few words, but countless actions that positively impacted the lives of so many. Otis will forever be missed and always remembered. Funeral home visitation will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Monday, July, 15th from 12-1 pm. With a funeral home service at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Pleasant St. Cemetery in Raynham.
