He was born in Waltham, the son of the late Richard Dennen and Annette (Nolette) Dennen and his late step father Arthur Deniz. Michael was a resident of Bourne and formerly of Berkley and Taunton Ma. He loved his wife Deby, his four sons, God, and his dogs. Michael enjoyed spending time with his boys and attending car shows, camping and walking the canal every day. Michael was always willing to talk with everyone and an even better listener that would often lead to lasting friendships with clients and fellow Canal Fishermen. His commitment to physical fitness and his never quit attitude earned him the nickname of Iron Mike. Mike or Mr D. Mr D. was a mentor and role model for young people in the Berkley and Taunton area making an impact that would keep those young men and women coming to visit him after the move to Bourne. He was a mentor for others living with illness and a willing listener to anyone that needed someone to talk to or seeking advice about life, work or family.
