Maura Whittemore Obituary

Maura Therese Whittemore of Taunton, formerly of Raynham, died tragically on July 1, 2026. She was 54 years old. Maura was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and grew up in Raynham, where she attended Raynham Public Schools. She was a graduate of Coyle and Cassidy High School, Class of 1989. Maura received her associate degree from Massasoit Community College and her bachelor's degree from Bridgewater State College. Maura is survived by her parents, Arthur and Eileen Whittemore of Raynham; her siblings, Lisa Field of Taunton; Ellen Whittemore-Jacques and her husband, Leeland, of Sutton; and Shawn Whittemore of North Attleboro. In addition to her parents and siblings, Maura was the beloved Auntie MoMo to Brittany Field and her daughter, Alaina McConnell, of Leominster; Brian Field, his wife, Chrisy, and his daughter, Kylie, of Taunton; and Elisabeth Whittemore of Sutton. Maura was the granddaughter of the late Walter and Mary Whittemore of Hyde Park and the late Michael and Mary Lennon of Ballygar, County Galway, Ireland. Maura is also survived by her best friend, Jaime Brosnan of Taunton; Jaime's husband, James; and their children, whom she loved as her additional nieces and nephews. Maura was a lifelong communicant of St. Ann's Parish in Raynham, where she was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and a frequent volunteer at Knights of Columbus-sponsored community events. Maura was employed at Bridgewater State University for more than two decades, where she enjoyed supporting students and took great pride in her work. Funeral arrangements are by O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home of Taunton. At the family's request, there will be no calling hours. Friends and family are invited to attend Maura's Mass of Christian Burial, which will take place at St. Ann's Church on July 13, 2026, at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in memory of Maura and mailed to: BSU Foundation, PO Box 42, Bridgewater, MA 02324.
