In Brockton, May 15th, 2024, Mary Carol (Gregg) passed away peacefully following a short illness with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the Late Edward V and Emma L (Donahue) Gregg of Taunton, MA and the wife of the late George E Dion, Jr. Born and raised in Taunton, she was a 1952 graduate of Saint Mary’s High School. She worked during high school at Taunton Cooperative Bank and continued her career there following her graduation. She was a member of the Taunton Junior Women’s Club. Additionally, she was employed at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as a senior clerk, leaving to start a family in 1962. In later years she was employed by Bay Bank United in the Human Resources Office and worked alongside her husband in his accounting practice in Raynham. In 1961 she married George E Dion Jr., and they raised their family in Raynham, Massachusetts. A communicant of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church, both Carol and her husband were Eucharistic ministers as well as teachers in the CCD program. They were also members of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. Following retirement, Carol and George moved to Bridgewater. They traveled extensively across the United States and were proud of the fact that they visited all 52 states. Carol loved going on cruises with her husband and enjoyed adventures with her many friends and extended family. Carol’s close-knit family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her four loving daughters and their families. She was most happy surrounded by her 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Carol was predeceased by her three brothers John (Nancy), Leo(Betty) and Charles (Ruth, Pricilla, Anne) Gregg . She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She enjoyed many lifelong friendships with her Taunton Gang and King Street neighbors. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Monday, May 20th at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church in East Taunton at 11 AM. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3-5 PM. Interment St Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
