Marjorie Elise Gregg

In Tallahassee, FL, Marjorie Elise Gregg, age 95, passed away on October 14, 2024  while surrounded by her loving family. Marjorie was the loving wife of the late Dr. Joseph Gregg. She was born in Lynn, MA, the daughter of the late Roy F. Torrence and Doris P. (Courchaine) Torrence. Marjorie was educated in Lynn schools and a graduate of Bridgewater State University and received her master's degree from Florida Atlantic University. She was a special education  teacher in Florida for 25 years and an administrator for the Broward County Schools, retiring in 1991. Marjorie found joy and fulfillment in volunteering for several children’s organizations, including many Catholic charities. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, traveling, especially with her husband, spending time with her close friends, affectionately known as the “Teapots” and above all cherished her time with family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Marjorie is survived by her children; Donald J. Gregg of Purcellville, VA, David B. Gregg and his wife Ruth of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Robert E. Gregg and his wife Andrea of Tallahassee, FL, and preceded in death by her late children; Stephen R. Gregg and Brenda J. Shortoak. She was also the sister of the late William Torrence. Marjorie leaves her grandchildren; Crista, Kevin, Dana, Jolyne, Joseph, Bonnie, Stephanie, David, Danielle, Jennifer, Elise, Corin, Darcy, and several great grandchildren. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Wednesday, October 23rd from 9:30-11 am. A funeral home service will be celebrated at 11 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
