Marie Souza

In North Providence, Marie Souza, age 82, passed away peacefully at Hope Hulitar Hospice while surrounded by her loving family. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Roland Souza. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Henry Courcy and Laura (Dumolin) Courcy. Marie resided in Raynham the past 12 years and was formerly of Taunton. She was educated in Taunton schools. Marie was a faithful communicant of St. Ann’s Church. She enjoyed playing cards, loved her desserts and sweets, visiting the beach, was known to her family as being nurturing, talented, creative, and loving. Above all she cherished her time with family. Marie is survived by her beloved children; Michelle Souza of Taunton, Lisa Rowley of Taunton, Lynn Borges and her husband Dennis of Dennis, Christopher Souza of Raynham, and Paula Miranda and her husband Lance of Berkley. She also leaves her loving grandchildren; Glenn Rogers Jr. of Dighton, Barry Rowley Jr. of Taunton, and Nicole Rowley of Taunton, and great grandchildren; Cole, Brayden, Madison, Abbeygael, Emma, and Olivia. Marie also leaves her siblings; Elizabeth Sees of Taunton, Jeanne Courcy of Taunton, and the late Alberta Houlihan and Albert Courcy. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Friday, March 28th from 9-10:30 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11 am. Burial will be in the family lot at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
