Maria Oliveira

In Taunton, Maria Oliveira, age 91, passed away at Marion Manor Nursing Home while surrounded by her loving family on March 4, 2025. Maria was survived by her husband Walter N. Oliveira of Taunton. She was born in Santa Maria in the Azores, the daughter of the late Antonio Freitas and Maria (Amaral) Freitas. Maria was a resident of Taunton and formerly of Portugal. She worked at the former Texas Instruments in Attleboro as an assembler. Maria had a strong faith and was devoted and faithful in her catholic faith. She was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, and Grandmother to her family. Maria enjoyed gardening, sewing, taking photos, cooking for her family, traveling to visit her children, walking and being outside, tending and watching her bird feeders, her beloved cat Sophia, and above all cherished her time with family. In addition to her husband Walter, Maria leaves her beloved children: Mary Kuczewski and fiance Davis Sousa of Taunton, David Sousa of Taunton, Francine Laura of Attleboro, Analia Oliveira of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Maria C. Johnson and husband David of Taunton, Claudia Page of Taunton, Carlos A. Oliveira of Taunton, Joseph F. Oliveira of Taunton, Louis F. Oliveira and wife Kelly of Tampa, FL, Mario J. Oliveira of RI, Peter P. Oliveira of West Hollywood, CA, Walter N. Oliveira Jr. of Middleboro, and the late Joseph and Victor Oliveira. She also leaves her 14 Grandchildren and 6 great Grandchildren. Maria is survived: Ernesto Freitas and his wife Guida of Taunton, and her late siblings: Joseph Freitas, Antonio Freitas, Angelo Freitas, Nelia Pinto, and Florinda Bairos. Maria also leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home in Taunton and are private at the request of the family.
