Maria (Mota) Abreu

In Taunton, September 13, 2025 Maria J. (Mota) Abreu loving wife of sixty one years to Antonio Abreu died at Morton Hospital at the age of 87. Born in Madeira, Portugal, Maria was the daughter of the late Joao and Marina Mota. Maria was a former Seamstress and also worked for Texas Instruments and the former Robinson’s Curtin Factory. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, dancing, visiting Madeira, loved the Holy Spirit, praying the Rosary and especially spending time with her family. Maria was the mother of Neil Abreu and his fiancée Maria of Taunton and Antonio Abreu and his late wife Ana of Taunton. Grandmother of Evan Abreu of Somerset, Kyle Abreu and his wife Gabrielle of Charlotte, N.C. and Chad Abreu of Taunton. Sister of Fernando Mota and his wife Carman of Taunton and the late Helena Lira. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton no Monday, September 22 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Anthony’s Church in Taunton at 11 AM. Interment St Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
