In Taunton, Lucie “Oma” Brantz, passed away on 1/26/26 after a brief illness at Morton Hospital at the age of 90. She passed away peacefully joining her husband Albert and daughter Diane in eternal rest. Lucie was born in Indonesia to the late Maximillian and Lucia Van de Wetering Buijs. She moved to the Netherlands as a child and then moved to America in 1961. She was a homemaker until her children were grown and then went to work at a lingerie shop until its closing. She loved to cook, sew, crochet and knit. Often making stuffed animals for her great grandchildren. She enjoyed breakfast Sundays with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves behind her children: Linda Curran and her husband Paul of Brockton, her son-in-law Shawn Hennessy of Bridgewater, Audrey Malloch of Berkley and Patty Flebotte of Berkley. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Heather, Brett, Bryan, Matt, Ryan, Chris, Alyssa and Michael. Also, nine great grandchildren: Alivia, Jayden, Lukas, Ashleigh, Riley, Dusty, Avery, Bryan Jr and Cole. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Wednesday, February 4th from 5-7 pm. with a service at 7 pm. Burial will be at Fox Cemetery at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Lucie’s memory to The Stroke Foundation @ www.Thestrokefoundation.org
