Joseph Mulhern

Joseph D. Mulhern Sr., age 75, passed away on Thursday February 5, 2026, in Taunton, MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Diane Mulhern. He was born in Taunton to the late Andrew J. and Bernice (Smith) Mulhern, Sr. Joe was raised in Taunton and a graduate of Taunton High School. He retired from Reed & Barton’s after more than 40 years as a machinist. He was also a long time bartender and member of the Portuguese American Civic Club. He was an avid Boston sports fan and loved going to the casino every chance he could. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren at all of their activities. Joe is survived by his sons Joseph Mulhern Jr., James Mulhern, stepson Gary Gonsalves and several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Rita C. Ferreira, Andrew J. Mulhern Jr., John B. "Johnny" Mulhern, Alice T. Letourneau and Mary J. Oliver, and stepfather to the late Jon Hartel. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Saturday, Feb 14th at 10 am Visitation will be prior to the service from 8:30-10 am. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
