In Taunton, John Thomas Rioux, age 91, passed away at his home unexpectedly following a period of declining health on June 2, 2025. John was the husband of the late Jean (Murby) Rioux. He was born in Fall River, the son of the late Louis P. Rioux and Catherine (Lee) Rioux. John was raised in Fall River, he attended Fall River schools and was a graduate of Durfee High School. He was employed as a truck driver until his retirement. John enjoyed bowling, ballroom dancing, and spending time with his family. John is survived by his children; John T. Rioux and his wife Susan of Michigan, Louis P. Rioux and his wife Shelley of Washington State, and Cheryl Medeiros and her husband James of Taunton, and Linda M. Rioux of Michigan. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren; Brandon Hicks, Dillon Rioux of Mesa, Arizona, and Louis P. Rioux II of Washington State, and great grandson Brayden Rioux of Arizona, Landon Rioux of Arizona, and Hannah Rioux of Washington State. John was predeased by his siblings; Grace Bronhard, Barbara Walsh, Louis Rioux. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and cousins. Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home in Taunton. A graveside service will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River on Thursday, June 12th at 11:30 am.
