Jean Stephens Obituary

Shreveport, LA Jean I. Stephens 88, of Bossier City, LA passed away following a period of declining health on August 23, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family near and far. Daughter of the Late George B. and Irene D. (Pouliot) Wade. Jean was born in Taunton, MA. She was preceded in death by her ex-husbands Vincent Fazio and Lee Stephens. Jean was mother to Tammy L. Fazio, Fletcher, NC. Sister and Best Friend of Beverly A. Lake-Guinen, Wareham, MA and her Uncle, William White, Taunton, MA. Jean is also survived by her niece Phyllis Barbato (Edward) Middleborough, MA and preceded in death by her nephews Kevin Lake (Tena) and Ross Lake. Jean was Grandmother to Heather Banks (Ryan Davenport), Bossier City, LA. Tiffany Hall (Eric Hall), Arden, NC and David Oddo, Arden, NC. She was the very loving and devoted Great Grandmother to Julius, Carson, Alexander, Jean-Paul, Aubrey, Giovanni, Londyn, Dominic and Kingston. She also leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews and extended family members. Jean became a Professional Singer at 15 years of age. She was at a Father Daughter School Dance and was discovered by the Thomas Masso Band. She continued to enjoy singing and entertaining her entire life. Along with singing, Jean did have other interests. She loved to travel whether it was a cruise or a visit with family and friends. She loved flower arranging, ceramics, The Boston Red Sox and going out to dinner. She worked for Sunoco for many years. She truly loved her job and lived in RI, NY, PA, NJ and NC, becoming friends with clients all along the East Coast as well as creating wonderful lasting friendships. Jean retired to Vero Beach, FL. She loved it and after all her nickname was Miss Sunshine. As years went by she spent time with her daughter in North Carolina and then moved to Louisiana where she enjoyed time with her Granddaughter and with her Great Grandchildren. Family and Friends are invited to attend a Service at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street, Taunton MA on October 1st.  Visiting hour will be held at 10am prior to the Service at 11am. Burial will follow at the St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
