Janice M. (Masse) Simmons

In Providence, RI., Janice M. Simmons, age 78, passed away at RI Hospital on April 30, 2026. Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Alfred Masse and Eileen (Beaulieu) Masse. Janice leaves behind her devoted husband of 49 years Frederick Simmons of Taunton. A longtime resident of Taunton, Janice graduated from Bishop Cassidy High School. Janice worked and retired from Farrell Backland Insurance Company. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and was known to make the best chocolate cookies, spending time with family, especially her cherished Grandchildren. Janice leaves her daughter Dawn (Goulet) Warfield, stepson Scott Simmons and wife Barbara. Grandmother of Craig Rogers and his wife Holly, Mitchell Rogers, Sophie (Rogers) Israel and her husband Daniel, Michael Simmons and partner Katie Ferris, and great Grandson Andrew Simmons. She also was the sister of Fred Masse and his wife Karleen and the late Roland Masse and Linda Lavelle. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16th at 11 AM at Cedar Knoll Cemetery, 175 Staples Street in East Taunton.
