Jane Sears

Jane T. Sears, age 66, of Attleboro, MA, formerly of Taunton, MA and Rodondo Beach, CA, passed away peacefully in Attleboro on May 18, 2024, with her twin brother by her side, following a period of declining health. Jane was born in Taunton, MA on April 29, 1958 to W. David and Virginia T. Sears. Jane graduated from Taunton High School in 1976. She attended Cape Cod Community College, Bristol Community College and El Camino Community College in Torrence, CA. Her career included positions as a medical assistant in MA and in CA, a pharmacy technician and an ophthalmologic technician. Jane enjoyed the outdoors, especially Horseback Beach and Swansea Beach, reading, walking the cranberry bogs with her brother and their dog, Murphy, camping, and music – 80’s hair bands and classic rock, all animals, cooking, Boston sports teams, NASCAR, and Jeff Gordon. Jane was predeceased by her parents, W. David and Virginia T. Sears, and her oldest sister, Bethany (Sears) Jones. She is survived by her twin brother, Joel P. Sears, her sister Sarah (Sears) and husband David Rickey of Bath, NH, and her brother-in-law, Chris Jones of Braintree, MA and Bonita Springs, FL, as well as several aunts and uncles, lots of cousins and numerous friends. And Murphy the Weimaraner. Jane will be dearly missed and happily remembered. At Jane’s request, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home in Taunton, MA. Donations in Jane’s memory may be made to the Taunton Animal Care Facility, 821 West Water St., Taunton, MA 02780
