In Taunton, James H. Mulvihill, age 95, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family at the Arbors on July 25, 2025. James was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jane (Norton) Mulvihill. He was born in Jamaica, NY, the son of the late James J. Mulvihill and Frederica (Mackert) Mulvihill. James had been a resident of Taunton the past eight years and was formerly of Raynham. He was educated in Jamaica, NY schools. Lt. Commander James Mulvihill served his country honorably during the Vietnam War before retiring in 1970. He later worked as a manager in retail. James was a member of the Knights of Columbus, was active in the Boy Scouts, held the position of lector at St. Ann’s Church in Raynham, volunteered at Battleship Cove in Fall River. He enjoyed reading, traveling, history, and above all was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family. James is survived by his children; Peter Mulvihill of Reno, Nevada, Timothy Mulvihill and his wife Barbara of Lakeville, Christopher Mulvihill and his wife Holly of Taunton, James Mulvihill and his wife Sue of Raynham, and Mary Gutterson and husband Ed Finnegan of Taunton. He also leaves his late sister Jean Mulvihill, and his 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral from the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. Taunton, MA 02780 on Thursday, August 7th at 9:30 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Church in Raynham at 11 am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Burial will be at Pleasant St. Cemetery in Raynham.
