J. Francis Boivin

In Raynham, J. Francis Boivin, age 92, passed away at Life Care Center on January 16, 2026. Francis is survived by his loving wife Alice (Donnelly) Boivin of Taunton. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Euclide Boivin and Eva (Dumont) Boivin. He was a graduate of Bristol Agricultural High School and attended St. Anne’s College in Nova Scotia, Canada. Prior to his college, Francis served his country honorably during the Korean War while in the U. S. Army. J. Francis was the owner of Boivin Construction for several years before employment as road building inspector for the Mass Department of Public Works. He was the recipient of the Marian Medal from the diocese in recognition of services to the former Immaculate Conception Parish. He had been treasurer of the Conference of St. Vincent de Paul Society from where he received the Top Hat Award. He was a Past Grand Knight of Council #82 Knights of Columbus and a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly #398. He had been Vice President of Catholic Financial Life Council #53 and member of the Greater Taunton Gaelic Society. He leaves his children Michelle VanVoorhis and her husband Stephen of Raynham and Brian Boivin and his husband Patrick Memari of PA as well as his granddaughters Alexa, Katie, and Lainey VanVoorhis. He was the brother of Paul Boivin and his wife Diana of Taunton and Irene Boivin of Norton and the late Anna Boivin, Eva Thornley, Dora Meier, Roger Boivin, Yvonne Richardson, Helen LaPlante and Eugene Boivin. He also is Survived by many niece, nephews and their descendents and cousins. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Friday, January 23rd at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11 AM. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5-7 PM. Interment St Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
