Gilbert A Madrigale

In Providence RI, Gilbert A. Madrigale, age 86, passed away peacefully at RI Hospital while surrounded by his loving family on July 10, 2026 Gilbert was the husband of the late Karen (Garnon) Madrigale. He was born in Erie, PA, the son of the late Oliver Madrigale and Rose (DeAngelo) Madrigale. Gilbert was educated in Erie, PA schools, he then attended the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and then the Berklee College of Music where he received his Masters Degree. Gilbert’s entire life’s work, his creative output and his dedication was devoted to his music. He enjoyed being the director of the Town of Avon’s and later Dartmouth’s High School Bands. He enjoyed playing out, gigging in several bands over the years, traveling with his late wife to Aruba, visiting Foxwoods, and above all cherished his time with family. He served his country honorably while in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Gilbert is survived by his loving children; Sherrie Costa and her husband Joseph of Raynham, Lauren Lang of Bridgewater, and Noelle Robinson of East Taunton, and his late son Gilbert A. Madrigale Jr. and his wife Devin Miller of Plymouth. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren; Kyle, Linsie, Tony, Kathryn, Emily, Isabella, Jackson, and his great grandchildren; Rylie, Daniel, Hunter, and Hayden. Funeral from the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Friday, July 17th at 9 am Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Center St. in Bridgewater at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 5-7 pm. Burial will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
