In Raynham, Frederick Raymond McCarthy, age 91, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on May 17, 2025 following a lengthy illness. Frederick was the loving husband of 71 years to Nancy (Pacheco) McCarthy of Raynham. He was born in Taunton, the son of the late Michael McCarthy and Katherine (Reilly) McCarthy. Frederick was a longtime resident of Raynham and formerly of Taunton. He was educated in Taunton schools. Frederick served his country honorably during the Korean War while in the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Canberra. Frederick was a life member of the Taunton Rifle and Pistol Club. He won his first trophy in 1954 and was there every Tuesday night. He was also a recipient of the Marian Medal from the Diocese of Fall River and a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Raynham. He was employed as a motion picture projectionist for 18 years, and bus driver for 11 years. Frederick enjoyed woodworking, was a handyman who could fix about anything, and enjoyed spending time with family. In addition to his wife Nancy, Frederick leaves his loving children; Jeffrey McCarthy of FL, Curtis McCarthy of Raynham, Timothy McCarthy of Mansfield, and Kelly McCarthy of Raynham. He also leaves his 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, was preceded in death by all his siblings and leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Friday, May 23rd from 9-10:15 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Church in Raynham at 11 am. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
