Evelyn Glavin Obituary

Evelyn Glavin (Deane), age 89, dedicated long time resident of Raynham died peacefully at her home on November 6, 2025. Born in Taunton, MA on September 23, 1936, one of 9 children of Howard L. Deane and Louise M. Deane (Kiyok). Both her parents died young leaving her to live with her oldest sister Mary as she grew up. First job was working at The Milk Bottle on Broadway in Raynham where she met the late Ronald “Bucky” Glavin, they married in 1956 and had six children. Dennis, Timothy, Brian, Paula, Frederick, and Rhonda and all grew up in Raynham. Evelyn was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother (13) and great grandmother (19). The love of her life was her daughter Paula, whom Evelyn cared for right up to the end when she passed away at the age of 63. If raising 6 children and running a household was not enough, she worked in the Raynham Schools cafeteria for over 25 years as well as supporting many other towns departments, she was always there to help out the needed. Family was always most important to her, she hosted all the family gathers, be it holidays, birthdays, graduations, end of year sports parties, she did it all! Evelyn just loved caring for other people. In her younger years she enjoyed duckpin bowling, playing 45, watching the Red Sox, and baking. She enjoyed watching Christmas movies no matter what time of the season it was, her favorite favorite movie was “LA BAMBA”, that was on automatic playback as long as she was awake. But what she most enjoyed in her spare time, which wasn’t often, was going to the casino, she really looked forward to it. Evelyn was the strongest, most caring person we know, we will miss her dearly and we know there is a special place in God’s House for her. A church service will be held at First Congregational Church in Raynham on November 12th at 11 am. Followed by her burial in the family lot in Pleasant St. Cemetery in Raynham. Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home in Taunton. Visit our website www.okeefewade.com to sign the online guestbook, view obituaries and obtain directions.
