Elwood Shepard

In Attleboro, November 13, 2025 Elwood Shepard loving husband of Mary (Lovell) Shepard died at Sturdy Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. Born in Taunton, Elwood was the son of the late Earl and Stella (Coe) Shepard. He was a graduate of Taunton High School class of 1959 and was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. Elwood was a retired Machine Operator for the former Bacon Felt in Taunton for over forty four years. He enjoyed shooting at the Taunton Rifle and Pistol Club in Taunton where he was a member, traveling, drawing and country music especially George Strait. He was the father of Denise Shepard of Attleboro and Eric Shepard of Taunton. Grandfather of Marysa, Michael, Kyle, Courtney and Brianna. Great Grandfather of Aidyn, Cali, Luke, Gabby and Olivia. Brother of Eugene Shepard of Fall River and the late Esther Bourget, Evelyn Wilbur, Estella Cote, Earl, Everett and Edmond Shepard. A service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Tuesday, November 18 at 11 AM. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5-7 PM. Interment Cedar Knoll Cemetery in East Taunton. Donations in Elwood’s memory may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
