Elaine Tapia Obituary

In Fall River, Elaine Murial Tapia, age 79, passed away comfortably and peacefully on April 16, 2025 while on hospice care at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. Elaine was surrounded by family as she began and made her journey home. Elaine had a lengthy career working for the state of MA. She worked for many years at the Paul A. Dever School also known as the Myles Standish School for the mentally disabled. From there she transitioned to doing group home visits for the mentally ill. She loved her work and helping others brought her immense joy. She frequently referred to her clients as “My Kids”. Elaine retired in 2013. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, and going out for international foods was one of her favorite things to do. She enjoyed the meat raffles at the Atlantic in Taunton, MA, and the turkey shoots at the America Legion in Berkley, MA where she was a member for many years. One of her greatest joys was her sweet little Peek A Poo (Bootsie) and her Kittys. She loved her babies. Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Rudolph Alen Tapia AKA (Rudy) of 47 years. Rudy is 81 years old and is deeply loved by all of Elaine’s children and many others. The care he gave to Elaine for decades was 2nd to none. In addition, Elaine is survived by her brother Donald, her three sons Phil, Scott, Mike, her daughter Joy and daughter in law Chris and son in law John. Elaine is also survived by 5 grandchildren Kyla, Michaela, Joshua, Julia and also her late grandchild Scott who passed away at the age of 32. In addition Elaine is survived by three nieces Lisa, Caitlyn, and Jessica, 4 nephews Albert, Danny, Justin, and Michael, three great grandchildren Jaylynn, Seth, and Sierra. Lastly Elaine is survived by two great nieces Caitlyn, Grace and five great nephews Michael,Lawson, Aiden, Braven, and Christopher and her late great nephew Justin. Elaine had a long history of illness, but she was a fighter and never let it get her down. She also had Rudy loving faithful husband by her side. When Rudy met Elaine, he was all in from the start and never left her side. Thank God for Rudy! She loved her husband and her entire family. She is now in a better place and no longer suffers, and in that we find peace.
