Derek L. Dennen Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the loss of our beloved son, Derek L. Dennen, who on Feb 8, 2024 lost his courageous battle with cancer at the age of 39. His strength and perseverance was truly remarkable even after suffering a TBI (traumatic brain injury) that forever changed his life. But his love of sports never left him as he looked forward to enjoy all the Celtics, Pats, Sox and Bruins games in that order, sorry Bruins. And must we not forget his affection or should we say obsession with sneakers!!! Last but not least his fondest memories were playing baseball for T.E.L.L., Babe Ruth and Post 103 American Legion. He loved the camaraderie he had with his teammates. For all his flaws, fears and mistakes he will be forever missed. Derek leaves behind his dedicated loving parents, Paula (Rocha) and Stephen Dennen. Loving sister Melissa, his son Jackson, his beloved nephew Kyan and niece Anastasia along with all his caring aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents Leonard & Eva Rocha and Richard & Jean Dennen. Many thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice and special thanks to (and fist pump) to Derek’s nurse throughout his journey. Their support helped us through what were very tough times. Interment will be private following cremation. Arrangements are under the care of the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home.
