David Isabel, aged 62, passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2024, in his hometown of Taunton, Massachusetts. Born on November 2, 1961, David was a man known for his quiet demeanor and generous heart. He was a man who found his greatest joy and purpose within the walls of his home. He attended Bristol Plymouth High School where he completed his studies in auto repair.
David was the quintessential example of hard work and dedication, both in his profession as a dietary food service specialist, at Morton Hospital for 44 years, and as a father to his two children. His work ethic was unparalleled, often working long hours to ensure the comfort and security of his family, whom he loved deeply. David’s commitment to his family extended beyond providing as he was actively involved in their lives. Spending time with his wife, children, and 7 grandchildren (with another on the way) was the thing he cherished most. His wife, Isabel, was his partner in every sense, supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. The 36 years spent together created a home filled with love, laughter, and endless support. David’s sense of humor and easy-going nature made him a pleasure to be around. His legacy is one of quiet compassion and selfless service.
He loved spending time playing video games with his grandchildren and had a deep love of music, often spending hours playing one of his many guitars. He was in a band called Private Stock and Old Wave with his brother. He and his brother also enjoyed taking rides on their motorcycles. He loved watching T.V. such as sports and wrestling very much.
David was the son of the late William Isabel, and June (Wilson) Isabel and brother of the late Coralie DeBrum. In addition to his wife, Isabel, David is survived by his daughter, Nicole Isabel Whalon and her husband, Jonathan Whalon of Taunton, MA, Samantha Isabel and her long-time companion, Alex Reis of Taunton, MA, his sister Claudia Hackett and her husband Craig Hackett of East Taunton, MA, and his brother Jaime Isabel of Taunton, MA. Also survived by his 7 grandchildren, Kallie Whalon, Kambrie Whalon, Bentley Reis, Kade Whalon, Theo Reis, Krew Whalon, Sophie Reis, and 8th grandchild expecting in October. He also leaves behind various nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 2nd from 3-6pm at Okeefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St, Taunton, MA. A private burial will be held on Monday, June 3rd for immediate family only.
