Christine (Perkins) Marchand

Christine (Perkins) Marchand departed peacefully from home on June 6 2025 at age 74 after bravely facing illnesses. Born in December 1950, Chris spent most of her life as a Taunton resident. She was a lifelong caregiver having worked at Wrentham Development Center and then opening her home to adult fosters with disabilities. For 40 years her home was a place of love and support for many people of all types, shapes, and abilities. Kind, loving, and independent, everyone flourished under her care. Chris was a 1968 graduate of Bishop Cassidy High school and studied psychology at Dean College. She was an artist, poet, and champion for those forgotten, both human and animal. Over the years she used her home and yard as a perpetually changing canvas to express herself and provide refuge for turtles and other animals. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Claire Perkins, husband Franklin Marchand, and step daughter Theresa D’Intinosanto. She leaves behind children Chris and wife Stacy Jette of Fl, Tommy Marchand and Julie Marchand of Taunton, and stepson Frank Marchand of SC. Also her Grandsons Tyler and wife Molly Jette, and Brayden Jette of Fl and Great Grandsons Luke and Isaac Jette of Fl. In addition to many cousins and friends, she was supported in friendship and love by Glenn Woloski of Franklin. She gave the world love, laughter, and showed us how to be kind to all. In lieu of flowers the family requests you to please donate to a charity of your choosing for the homeless, cancer research, or to Taunton Animal Shelter, 821 West Water Street, Taunton, MA, 02780. A visitation will be held at O’Keefe-Wade funeral home 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Wednesday June 25th from 5-7 PM..
