In Loving Memory of Cassie O'Connell It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cassie O'Connell, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Cassie was known for her warmth, kindness, and deep love for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of thoughtfulness that will never be forgotten. Cassie is survived by her children, William O'Connell and wife Ingrid of Dighton, Teal Golden of Asheville, North Carolina, and Mary O'Connell and husband Anthony Richardi of Taunton. She was the proud grandmother of Kate, Jaclyn, Olive, Lauren, and William and the wife of the late William “Okie” O’Connell. Cassie is also survived by her loyal lovebird, Goose, who kept her company in her later years. A lifelong lover of animals, Cassie had a special place in her heart for her belated, beloved dogs, Uma and Miss Mollie, often spending time with them at the Berkley Bridge park. Her children fondly recall saving turtles from the road and allowing them to live at home as pets when they were young. Cassie’s love for her grandchildren was evident in everything she did. Whether it was crafting, baking her famous coconut macaroons, giving out jewelry, sharing family traditions, or simply spending time together, she always made her grandchildren feel special. Her homemade Christmas gifts, crafted with love, will be treasured for years to come. Her love of the band Wham is fervently shared by her granddaughter, Olive. Cassie’s friendships were precious to her and she maintained close bonds with her dear friends, Debbie Schoebel, Claire and Ricky, and Debbie Netto, who provided her with joy and support throughout her life. Cassie had a great love for the beach, especially vacations spent on Patuisset Island, where she relished time by the water with her children. Summers were filled with fond memories at Poppasquash Pool Club where she shared many happy days with family and her friends, Mary and Gail. Known for her sweet and thoughtful nature, Cassie was always thinking of others and eager to do kind things for those she loved. She could often be found sipping her favorite Dunkin’ iced coffee, particularly enjoying the seasonal pumpkin spice lattes. Cassie is also survived by her celebrity crushes, Daniel Day-Lewis, Sawyer from Lost, and Antonio Banderas. A devout Catholic, Cassie’s faith guided her in all that she did. Her devotion to her beliefs was an integral part of her character and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Cassie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her loving spirit, creativity, and unwavering care for others will remain in our hearts forever. A mass for Cassie will be held at St. Nicholas of Myra in North Dighton on Thursday, January 16th at 11:00 AM, followed by a prayer service at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton. In lieu of flowers, please join the family for drinks and laughter at Segregansett Country Club immediately following the cemetery. Rest in peace, Cassie. Your love will continue to guide us.
