Carol Dumont Riendeau died peacefully on January 9,2024, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 92. Born in Taunton, MA to her late parents Alfred and Barbara (Belanger) Dumont, she was a lifelong resident of Taunton. Carol was a 1949 graduate of Taunton High School, and chairperson for all Class of 1949 reunions. Carol was the loving wife of the late J. Raymond Riendeau for 57 years, until his death in 2008. Carol was the proud mother of four sons, a stay-at-home mom, wonderful wife, and caregiver to her parents. After her husband’s retirement, they traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, and many other places within the US. They wintered in Florida for many years and enjoyed a lifetime of memories together. She is survived by her four sons: Paul and his wife Donna of Raynham, Mark and his wife Kathy of Taunton, Scott and his wife Dede of Middleboro, and Brian and his fiancé Nick of Taunton. Carol was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Jane Riendeau. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren—8 grandsons (Eric, Adam, Brett, Kyle, Ross, Davis, Sam, and Alec) and 3 granddaughters (Beth Jones, Amy Baker, and Demi Riendeau). Additionally, she was loved by 12 great-grandchildren (Jacob, Rylie, Joshua, Tyler, Declan, Henry, Maicy, Carys, Brady, Bryce, Hazel and Ryan) and 1 great-great-grandchild (Paisley). Her special lifelong friends were Nancy Miles, Joan Mulvey, and the late Joanne Perry with whom she shared a love of shopping, reading, and walking. She enjoyed attending daily mass at St. Anthony’s Church and was a lifelong attendee of St. Mary’s Church. Carol lived in the home which she shared with her husband Ray for 65 years. She got the greatest joy from looking at photos of her large family, saying, "Look at all I made!" Carol spent her final 11 months making new friends and fond memories at Lifecare of Raynham She was overjoyed to attend the wedding of her grandson Alec and Alexis in November where she was loved, celebrated and serenaded by all. She continued to be the life of the party and a source of joy for all who knew her. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Wednesday, January 17th from 9-10:30 AM.
