Barbara "Tootie" Thompson Obituary

Barbara “Tootie” (Ellis) Thompson, age 92, passed away at home with her loving family by her side. Barbara was the wife of the late Herman T Thompson. She was born in Taunton, the youngest child of the late John T. Ellis & Elizabeth (Newton) Ellis. Barbara was a lifetime Taunton resident. She was educated in Taunton schools and was a graduate of the Bristol Plymouth nursing program from which she launched a 35 year career as an LPN at Morton Hospital. She enjoyed her independence, her trips to the casino with friends, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two children, Robert Thompson and his wife Elizabeth of Taunton, and Elizabeth Thompson of Taunton. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Henrikson, Grace Jordan, John T. Ellis, William Ellis. Robert Ellis. Margaret "Peggy" Hebert, and Joanne Delisle. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Robert Thompson Jr and his wife Brittany of Maine, Claire Thompson, Ryan Thompson and his wife Brittney of Taunton both of Taunton and her great grandchild Brody Thompson. Gavin Thompson, Avery Thompson of Taunton, Arthur and Franklin Thompson of Maine. and many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Monday, May 5th at 10 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11 AM. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 5-7 PM. Interment St Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
