Barbara Jean Thomas

In Brockton, Barbara Jean Thomas, age 69, passed away at Boston Medical South following a lengthy illness on September 23, 2025. Barbara was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Joseph P. Thomas and Louise G. (Thompson) Thomas. She was a lifetime resident of Taunton, educated in Taunton schools, and a graduate of Stonehill College with a accounting degree and also from Bridgewater State University with a teaching degree. Barbara worked in both professions teaching and accounting. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and arts and crafts. Barbara is survived by her sister Maribeth Thomas and her husband Steven of Taunton, brothers John Thomas of PA , Paul Thomas of Texas, Joseph Thomas of Taunton. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Services are private at the request of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home in Taunton. Her private burial will be in the family lot at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Diabetes Association.
