Barbara A Lovell

Barbara Ann Lovell (Sherman), 83, of Taunton, passed away peacefully at home on September 16, 2024, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Jamie, of Dennis; her sister, Charlene Horan, also of Dennis; and her brother, Kevin Sherman, of Colorado and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth (O'Hearne) Sherman; her older sister, Mary Uguccioni; and her beloved husband, James Lovell. Born and raised in Taunton, Barbara graduated from Taunton High School. She attended Beauty School and worked as a hairdresser before marrying her beloved husband, Jimmy. Barbara and Jimmy enjoyed 37 years of marriage before his passing in 2002. Barbara had a fulfilling career with Princess House Crystal and later worked as a Home Health Aide, providing private duty care in Taunton and Cape Cod until her retirement. An avid reader throughout her life, Barbara also loved traveling across the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, and Mexico with her daughter Jamie, her sister-in-law Anna, and friends. Barbara had a special fondness for the beach, especially the one near the cottage in Dennis that her father Charles had built. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of one’s choice.
