Armando Garanito

In Taunton, Armando Gomes Garanito, age 84, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by his loving family on February 23, 2024. Armando was the husband to his beloved wife of 61 years, Margarita (De La Vega) Garanito of Taunton. He was born in Madeira, Portugal, the son of the late Joao Garanito and Matilde (Fernandes) Garanito. Armando has been a longtime resident of Taunton and formerly of Venezuela. When in Venezuela he was a dispatcher for the city bus company and also owned a jewelry store with his wife there. After moving to Taunton he worked as a painter by trade and retired from the Foxboro Company in 1999. Armando enjoyed traveling with his wife, playing dominos, watching soccer, making his wine, and taking care of his yard and garden. He was a member of both the Taunton Eagles and the Taunton Sports Clubs. In addition to his loving wife Margarita, Armando leaves his siblings; Adriana Deazevedo and husband Fernando of Taunton, Teresa Andrade and her late husband John of FL, Judith Hernandez and late husband Julio of Venezuela, and his late siblings; Cidalia Nobrega, Almorinda Garanito, Teresa Garanito, John Garanito, Alvarino Garanito, Armando Garanito, and Avelino Garanito. He will also miss his precious dogs, Rocio and Lolita. Funeral services will be private at the request of the family and arrangements are under the care of the O’Keefe wade Funeral Home in Taunton.
