Anne Tichelaar

In Middleboro, Anne (Dutra) Tichelaar age 90, passed away at home on September 1, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Frans Tichelaar. Born and educated in Taunton she was the daughter of the late Jennie Machado (Dutra). She spent much of her life as a Taunton resident before moving to Middleboro. She devoted her time as a caretaker for her husband and worked as an administrative assistant for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for many years prior to her retirement.

In addition to her late husband, Anne was preceded in death by her brothers Edward and James Machado; sister Maureen Machado, son Fran Tichelaar, grandson Kyle Tichelaar. She is survived by her sister Carol Ennes of Raynham; daughters Deborah and Napolean DesRosiers of Middleboro, Susan and George DeMello of East Taunton, and Lynne Tichelaar of Attleboro; grandchildren Amy Leonard, Brian and Daniel DeMello, Rebecca Tichelaar, Adam, Brandon, and Samantha Tichelaar; great grandchildren Oliver, Porter, Soren, Carter, and Charlie; and several brother and sister in-laws as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well as trying her luck on scratch tickets. She especially loved spending time with family at holidays and backyard gatherings. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity and giving.

Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 9:30-11 am.  A funeral home service will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
